What is the size of my frame?
A key for a perfect fitting of eyeglasses or sunglasses when ordered online is, to know your frame size.
Sunglasses are bit larger than eyeglasses, so the size of your sunglasses will be larger than the size of your eyeglasses. You can choose larger size of sunglasses, but for eyeglasses the size needs to be as precise.
Check your current frame for your size:
You can use your current pair of glasses to check the correct size that fits you the best. Frame sizing is usually noted under either of the temples (see below). On opticsonline.ae the dimensions are mentioned in the following order.
Dimensions: Eye-size x Bridge-size x Temple-size
Eye-size, is the most important size as it defines the actual size of the glasses and it also defines the width of the lens(mm). Bridge-size, is the distance between two lenses(mm). Temple-size, is the length(mm) of the eyeglasses or sunglasses.
On some of the sunglasses or eyeglasses size might be present on the ear piece.
How to read the dimensions:
You might find different numbers and codes printed inside of your frame.
The eye size and bridge size are mostly together separated by “-” or a square icon. The temple-size usually comes after these two sizes, or sometimes may be after few alphabets or letters.
Sizes can be understand easily, just by looking at the ranges of numbers.
Eye-size/Lens-size: ranges from 40 – 62
Bridge-size: ranges from 14 – 24
Temple-size: a 3 digit number ranges from 120 – 150 range
